I have followed the guide from ifixit to replace my MacBook Pro 15" Unibody Mid 2009 Upper Case. I followed everything very carefully. I am a very technical person and do lots of IT support in my job. I have followed the guide and was able to do the swap under 2 hours. When I turned on my macbook pro all I get is gray screen and fans spins loudly. I have search and google all the forums with no luck. Possible Problems that I assume that happened during swap.
- I cannot perform any of the task such us. boot holding shift key. Hold c key. Hold cmd option p r. I kind of assume maybe I damaged keyboard cable during install. But I can boot the mac and i see power cable is connected with keyboard. So this is maybe.
- Maybe I damaged harddrive cable. Therefore mac wont see harddrive and wont boot. But usually mac shows folder with question marks if it cant see the drives. I have 2 harddrives in my macbook pro. Since I cannot hold option key to see what drives it sees I cant verify that. Also putting in target mode doesn’t work
- Maybe I damaged motherboard. I highly doubt that but at this point i don’t know what to do.
- I have rechecked all cables like 5 times and they are all connected to mb. Keyboard lights don’t light up and I checked other macs during boot keyboard usually don’t light up and caps lock also don’t work. I tried connecting external keyboard and it seems don’t work ether. Any suggestions or help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Problem solved. I have removed the logic board one more time. When removing it I realize i forgot to connect mouse to the motherboard. When i installed the logic board mouse cable was stock behind it therefore I missed it. I have put everything back and my laptop is alive aging. eeeehoooooo
