My MacBook crashed to a white screen, then after a long period a folder with question mark. I replaced the hard drive and ram was upgraded to max. When restarting, holding option will not show any bootable drives with a snow leopard install disk in the optical drive. Holding c dose not work either. Some of the other start up commands do, le resetting pram. .????
Try disconnecting the hard drive and booting from the Optical drive. Do as Cellers recommends and put the original RAM back in. Always try to solve the first problem before introducing new variables. What color is the disk Apple sent you? If gray please give us both the last three figures of your serial number and the number from the DVD disk.
