Hello all, I couldn’t find a post with this kind of issue so I thought I’d ask. I recently attempted a charging port repair and SOME HOW have damaged two pins of the camera connector on the logic board (Image below) and now the camera doesn’t work. I have no idea if this is fixable.
So my question is. If I replace the logic board, will the touchid still work with it because I’ve seen a mix of responses and need a conformation before I go ahead and purchase a new logic board unless these two pins can be fixed.
No your touch ID will not work with the home button you have. If you purchase another logic board Make sure it comes with its original home button. They are married to the logic board. The damage you caused to the connector can be fixed by a repair shop for about $70
No, your TOUCH ID will not work as the home button and motherboard are paired together in the factory. Imagine the home button being the soul mate to the motherboard.
