I have read that the hard drive in an Xbox one can be switched into a different Xbox one(if that is not correct then pleas tell me). I have a first gen Xbox one that no longer runs as fast or effectively as it did in its prime and I am hoping to replace it with an Xbox one S. I was wondering if I put the hard drive from my current Xbox into a new one will that transfer my downloads and other data not on the cloud into the new Xbox so I dont have to re-download everything when I switch. Also will the hard drive from the new Xbox work in the old Xbox?
Yes the data should remain in tact but if you really want to boost your original’s performance, you can hook up an external SSD or you should be able to swap the internal drive for an SSD. I recommend Samsung Evo drives. Good luck!
