I purchased a new battery for an iphone 6 instead of a 6s, will it still work in the 6s or not?
No it will not,sorry… The flex cable pinout is different. It won’t fit or connect correctly into the battery slot. Most of the iPhones have a different battery port size.
Look for your self: iPhone 6 Battery Apple P/N’s 616-0804, 616-0805, 616-0806 or 616-0807 Vs iPhone 6s Battery Apple P/N’s 616-00036 or 616-00033 iFixit would have listed them as compatible parts and they would have had the same P/N’s. As you can see they are not the same ;-{ Time to return the battery and get the correct one!
