I recently just got my u2ic removed from my device and am waiting for a new one to arrive. Does charging the phone while the u2ic being removed harm the iphone in any way? Thank you

The Hydra IC is used to communicate to the Lightning port so I don’t even know if it would allow charging. I’ve never tried running an iPhone without the “Tristar” (Hydra/U2) IC but I don’t really see the point in doing it and it could possibly cause collateral damage. Perhaps someone who has experienced this will chime in but in the absence of certainty, I would refrain from powering the device for now.
