I know when I upgraded the hard drive in my 2011 iMac the fan spun way too fast because the new drive didn’t have the same internal temp as the original drive and I had to order the exact drive from apple to make the fan spin at normal speed. I’m curious if the same applies when upgrading the hard drive in a 2012 macbook pro? I want to put a SSD in it but does the macbook have the temp sensor on the drive?
This problem has traditionally been just with post 2009 hard drive upgrades, not with the SSD drives.
