My mac display assembly is damage. I need to purchase the assembly to fit with my MacBook. I am a little confused with the years and model number. I found an assembly 2010 and 2011 make but with the same model number that is A1286. Will this do for my mac mid 2012?

Sadly, Apple altered the design just enough to make it not compatible. The more visible differences is cable lengths are too short and the iSight camera is a different resolution between the series. You’ll need to get MacBook Pro 15" Retina (Mid 2012/Early 2013) Display Assembly - Apple P/N 661-6529 part for your system. Sorry :-{ Can’t save the pennies here.
