Unfortunately Apple designed it to only work on the 6 plus.
Have an iPhone 6+ battery in my 6s+, works fine. Connector identical. Power ribbon slightly longer, will have a slight bow in it as opposed to original battery power ribbon, doesn’t affect fit of battery. Same voltage , slightly higher mAh rating.
I have done this before: installing 6 Plus’ battery in a 6S Plus. Battery life was slightly more but Apple Pay would not function properly (authenticated on the iPhone but unable to detect by the cashier’s terminal).
