Chosen Solution
I got the Wii out of storage. I set it up and it worked. I did not use the Wii until a week later(now). I press the power button, and it remains completely blank, not green or red. (I have tried unplugging every thing and letting it sit for a half hour.- the Wii has never been modified) pls help soon! thanks.
the wall outlet I had it plugged into was rotting apart.
I would check the power cord first. That seems to be the problem with many mysterious failures. It maybe worth visiting your local used game shop, and seeing if they will let you use their cord to test the machine.
