Hi, Macbook pro 15 mid 2012. My wifi is only working when next to router. I have previously replaced the airport/bluetooth board not knowing that the board might not be a problem. I have since bought usb wifi card and I am fine now. I would still like to fix original wifi/bluetooth card if possible. Could it be the antenna?
Unless you bumped your Mac, I seriously doubt it can be an antenna issue..that’s almost a passive part. I’d be more inclined to think it might be a logic board issue, a filter going bad or something along that direction. I’d never recommend a screen assembly replacement just “to see if things get better”. If the dongle you’re using doesn’t bother you too much I’d stick with that.
