Wifi works only if I’m in 5m radius with router (any). Whereas at home, it works perfectly fine with all my other devices. Is my airport card at fault or the airport cable which connects the hardware at fault?? Software: I’ve already tried (reinstalling OS X) but problem persists. What should I do?
I would start by getting a good WiFi monitoring app. Here’s one thats free from the Apps Store: Wireless Signal. I like this one but its not free it’ll set you back all of a buck ;-} WiFi Signal. See what they tell you. I suspect you have other conflicting AP’s around you so the given band you are using is not ideal. See if you can alter to the 5.0 MHz band from the 2.4 MHz band. You may also need to alter your AP’s channel/s.
