Hi there, my late 2011 MB pro’s wi fi finally gave up last week so I took apart, ordered a new airport / Bluetooth card but still nothing. I investigated further and realised that two of the 3 cables running along the hinge on the screen had been worn away. I’m trying to find a replacement part but can’t seem to see these?
Search on eBay “A1286 2011 wifi antenna” and it will show you results. Only replace this if you are not picking up WiFi unless close to a router, if these are cut it should still pick up signals. If it is saying no WiFi hardware installed, it will be a burnt ferrite bead on the logic board or an issue with the Airport to logic board cable.
