Hello. A friend gave me a Macbook A1466 EMC 2632 (not sure if mid 2013 or earliy 2014) after an unsuccessful water damage repair at a local shop. I noticed that there is no wifi/bluetooth card, so I’m wondering if there are models that didn’t ship with one, or if the guys just stole it. Thank you for your help. Update (07/16/2021)
https://imgur.com/a/EvxcMhD This is a picture I took when I opened up the lid - the slot is clearly empty. I’m pretty sure the logic board is dead (visible corrosion and burned up dust in one spot). I’m not attemting to fix it, I’m just taking out the SSD to extract data, but I’m pretty mad that the wifi card was probably removed without consent.
Given the fact your system was liquid damage I would say its more likely the AirPort board connector and/or the logic board is damaged. Stolen is a bit strong a word. If you opened the system do you not see it?
Apple did not ship systems without one.
