Hey, i´ve opend my 3 gs to replace Batterie and Phone-jack, but now the Wifi and gps don´t work anymore(2.meter range to router..). I broke the Copper/gold-spring under connctor Nr.7, but I soldered it so it should has good conntact to bezel! Is this conntact for the Gsm or Wifi/gps ? Connectors are checked. What can I try? Buying a new antenna or is it for gms? Greets from Germany, Philipp
Most likely Connector #6 is loose. Make sure iPhone is OFF before opening and during all repairs. Open iPhone and carefully reseat Connector #6 to the Logic Board.
Either connector 6 is loose or the connector 6 ribbon cable is damaged. If it is damaged the part is cheap and looks like this: iPhone 3GS GPS Antenna Replacement I bought my replacement on eBay for less than $4 with free shipping.
