When I turned mine on I got a wide grey bar on the left side of the display. I powered down, reset the connectors and had the same result
https://imgur.com/a/EKag1KI I was incredibly gentle with the display, but the only thing I can think of is I damaged it somehow. Any suggestions?
Ouch! Some how you damaged the LCD ribbon cables likely along the edge of the LCD panel. These cables are fused to the glass of the LCD to then connect to the T-CON board which drives the LCD. Think how cloth is laid out with warp and the woven weft. The LCD is driven in the same way a group of signals go vertically and another group go horizontally. The key bars are caused as the signal to drive them are missing and the bottom horizontal is in a similar state. Time for a new display as we don’t know which model you have I can’t get you more detail on how to replace it nor what you’ll need for a part. If you can give us your exact model information we could give you a bit more.
