Karen, try to disable VoiceOver using the Accessibility menu in the Settings application. I think that is what draws the “box” around your icons. That would also mean that your digitizer works since it reacts to your touch.
you may not have broken any glass but the touchscreen cable itself. try a hard reset..home and the power button together for 10 seconds, when the apple symbol appears release buttons and allow to reboot. if that doesn’t work you could open the phone and check that cable no.2 is on properly. other than that it’s a new digitiser you need
i have connected the conevtore but still touchscreen isnt working
i have connected all three connectors back in the correct spots it lights up but will not touch activate
