The headset and adapter are plugged in and I can hear game and chat sound, but no one can hear my voice from my microphone.
Have you checked to see if the mute function is activated? Make sure that the microphone is not muted by pressing the mute button on the adapter. It’s also possible that the headset is not completely connected to the adapter, or the adapter may not be fully connected to the controller. In this case, the speakers would not be working as well. If these suggestions did not solve the problem, check out the troubleshooting page.
We tried all sorts bought a new headset, following the instructions on the new head set ended up finding a setting that I didn’t know existed, turned it on and hey old headset now works! 1 Go to settings 2 Kinect and devices 3 controller 4 other options 5 volume 6 at top of list is a button to turn mic on turned it on and and it worked!! We had never turned the mic off, it just stopped working overnight. The 30quid for new headset was not a waste as wouldn’t have found that setting without it!!
This worked for me - Settings unplug headphone controller settings with pic of controller on click Buzz handset buzzes click firmware update even though not required shows 100% and complete Plug headphone back in and it worked
I couldn’t hear any sound in my headset and thought it was the mic and I connected it to a different controller and it worked.
Check that the controller is charged, and headset has power. Click the microphone mute button on the headset adapter to be sure mute setting is off. The Xbox One controller’s firmware may need to be updated. If problem persists, see the troubleshooting guide: Xbox One Stereo Headset Troubleshooting
I had this issue with one of my controllers. Connected via a USB cable to the xbox and force updated the handset firmware under devices in settings. Problem solved. HTH.
A great way to solve this problem is to do these steps xbox accessories more options update your controller. xbox accessories more options see if the mic option is on. If none of this works then it is your controller so change controllers then if that does not work your headset is broken.
Does someone have an updated version since the new console update moved and renamed alot of settings. (Ive tried all controllers and headsets) my issuse is that I can hear all noices although for some reason I cant talk to others “I’ve checked my mic to make sure it’s not muted" it was working just fine yesterday, then when I go to wake up and use it… it doesn’t work. Although if I go to the party and mute then unmute, my pfp lights up a for split second indicating that my mic is making sound, but then it stops and I cant speak but I can hear stuff. Pls help I legit cant find any fixes and all the answers here are useful for the old xbox settings arrangement. Ps: I’ve got 3 controllers and 2 headsets, 1 controller is the [default], 2nd is a [PDP] controller, and last is a [PowerA]. (Both headsets are wired)
