My samsung galaxy Prevail will not charge more than 8%. When the phone is plugged in without the battery it will not charge at all.
sharon, it is absolutely normal for the phone not to charge with the battery removed; it has nothing to be charged. First thing I suggest, is that you replace the battery.
Maybe your charging port is broken, you could replace a new one port and then have a try.
