Yesterday while I was using my phone the screen went completely black. At first I thought the battery just ran out, so I charged it, but it still wouldn’t turn on. Since then, I’ve figured out that the phone itself is still running perfectly fine, but the screen itself just won’t work. Sometimes when I rapidly press the home button, the phone screen will turn on, but it’s only temporary, and it doesn’t work every time. I have no idea what could be causing this problem or how I could fix it. I have tried everything and nothing has helped.
The first thing you should try s to do a hard reset (Home & Power button for 10 secs). If that doesn’t help, then you’ll need to determine if this is screen related or logic board related. Has the phone been dropped, repaired or come into contact with water in the last few days/weeks? Normally, the first thing to try is a replacement screen. You can do this yourself by following this guide. If a known-good replacement screen doesn’t help, then the issue would likely be on the logic board.
