So idk what’s going on, i want to avoid having to go to the apple store 100%. My phone will die completely, then when i plug it in the battery comes up and it’ll turn back on, as soon as it’s on it’s not charging. Idk if it’s my cord or my phone. I’m so confused. Please help lol
You have to first eliminate all external possibilities such as charging bricks and Lightning cables. Ideally try some known-good or new original cables and chargers. If you have access to a USB Ammeter, you could use that to determine if the phone is really drawing current when it says it’s charging. If the problem persists, it could be battery related. To be certain, use a battery utility, such as coconutBattery (for Mac) or 3uTools (for Windows). It will tell you what the health of the battery is. Anything less than 70% of design capacity will require replacement. Beyond that, you would likely have a logic board issue and that would require a micro-soldering repair.
It’s possible that the charging brick that the cord is plugged into isn’t supplying enough current. Try another wall plug and see if you get better results.
