My music will not make sound on my phone. It shows to be playing, but no sound can be heard. It does not work from the phone or using Bluetooth through my truck speakers. Calls and alert sounds work fine. I can even preview songs on iTunes, but my music has no sound. Please help. Chris
Chris, you may have issues with your headphone jack. It will switch the speaker etc. off when a set of headphones is plugged in. So if the jack is stuck, your phone will turn off the external sound. Try to insert and remove a headphone jack a few time in rapid succession. You can also try to clean it with some isopropyl alcohol, a few puffs of compressed air, as well as a small non-conductive cleaning rod i.e. toothpick. If that does not help you may have to replace the headphone jack. Follow this guide for that. The part is available right here as well as many other places. Hope this helps, good luck.
Have you tried to close out of the app? (double click the home button and swipe up to close the app). I would suggest to clean out the headphone jack with an air can and then plug those in. Turn up the volume when you are playing a song. It should say headphone volume and nothing else. There are a few useful tips for sound issues here as well that you can try: http://vkrepair.com/iphone-6-2/iphone-6-…
Just had the same problem - headphones working OK with calls etc, but when trying to play music, the music timer wouldn’t move on and no sound - like it was paused but I couldn’t un pause it. Seem to have fixed it by going Settings, Music, and turning on shake to shguffle and sound check, I’ve since turned them off and it’s still working fine. hope that helps Chris
When you switch to a home screen and try to press volume buttons up and down, will the volume indicator show up and move up and down? Sometimes it happens that charging port has a short and phone thinks it is plugged to the dock station, and it does not play music trough loudspeaker as well as does not allow to control volume of the phone. If you have this symptoms i suggest you to change charging dock cable, this should fix the problem V.
Jon, Have you tried putting in the headphone jack and and then taking it out? Repeat that a few times. After that, check the volume. That sorted mine out! There is an entry about it earlier in these posts.
Try putting the headphones in and pulling them out again, repeat.
I was having a problem hearing the music also, then I realized the volume bar was all the way down to nothing. Felt stupid :) but in my defence, since I had not adjusted the volume at any time that was not the first place I would have checked.
Try using a pluging in a different charger. Like an old iPod charger or just a different one that fits your port of course. It worked for me and for some reason it always happens to me and I just try everything until it works and so far this works very single time. Goodluck(:
It really works with toothpick n centre of charging port theres a really one small hole that i poke n it really works thnks again remember one small hole in the centre of charging port try it everyone it really really works thnks again bt dont break the toothpick
If you are playing videos or music and can’t hear them, play a song from your library and click the little box like bottom to the right of your volume line and make sure it is on iPhone.
