Hey forum, Earlier today I tried to hook my MacBook Pro 13” Mid 2010 to an external monitor. The monitor was plugged into a surge protector, and my DVI cable was plugged into the Mac. As I tried to plug the other end into the monitor, an arc formed between the DVI connector and the cable. Long story short, this killed the Magsafe charger I was using. I tried to plug my backup into the Mac, but the Mac wouldn’t accept a charge, and the Magsafe light was stuck on green. I tried to reset the SMC several times, but it hasn’t worked. And now I can’t even get into the Mac because the battery died. Any thoughts on how to fix this situation? Like I said, I tried the SMC reset several times, but it hasn’t worked. Thanks in advance?

If you’re sure the Magsafe you’re using is good, your Mac should start with battery unplugged. If it doesn’t some component of the logic board got burned when you got the spike. Probably the only way to fix it is through a component level repair.
