I’ve not been able to power on my macbook for a while now, the powersuply light on the cable is dim (I know my battery is dead) I’ve tried an smc reset, changing batteries and power cables, as well as starting from an external drive, but to no luck. The Isight light just blinks steadily (it’s quite dim) and then blinks faster when I hold down the power button. Any Ideas (both for what the blinking isight mean and to get it powering on)? Thanks a lot!

Assuming you’re talking about an A1181 white or black MacBook, I would try testing the RAM slots – power on with one slot empty, and then the other slot empty. Often these machines develop a bad slot, and won’t power on when the bad slot is occupied. Beyond that, you might be looking at some liquid damage. Some people will tell you to replace the DC-in, but really that part hardly ever goes bad. If the memory test above doesn’t help, I’d take off the topcase and see if there is any visible corrosion, and if there is, I’d clean it off with a soft toothbrush and 91% alcohol. I assume you’re referring to the sleep light, i.e. the light on the front-right of the machine? I’ve never heard of the light on the iSight camera blinking.
