Chosen Solution

I dropped my phone on to carpet recently with no visible damage, then vertical lines appeared on the screen which wouldn’t work, it also wouldn’t charge. It has since ran out of battery and was completely un responsive until I replaced the lightening connector. Now when I try to charge or connect to iTunes the apple logo flashes up on the screen with a cross shape of lines behind it but will still not function. I’ve tried restarting, force restarting, force restarting connected to iTunes and I’ve opened the phone up and cleaned with an alcohol based cleaner and toothbrush, none of these actions have made a difference. Can someone please help me?

It sounds like you need a new LCD and digitizer here’s a replacement video as to how to do it iPhone 5c Screen Replacement hope this helps

I’m not sure if I fully understood your problem - but if it’s white lines going across your screen one of the potential fixes is a power cycle. This can be done by disconnecting the battery and holding down the power for a few seconds to drain power from all components. Once done, simply reconnect the battery, turn on as normal and hope for the best. I hope this solution works for you.
