Unable to open certain applications, AOL and Hewlett Packard PSC software for example. Also in the the text names of many functions in the toolbar have been replaced by alphanumeric designations, ie: TL9, TL11, TL8. In the Menubar they are replaced by numbers preceded by N, FV, ME, LB. The functions are operable. I have reloaded Snow Leopard from the disc and updated it. I have tried to reload the HP and AOL software from discs but all get is the following: Install AOL for Mac OS X quit unexpectedly. Click Reopen to open the application again. Click Report to see more detailed information and send a report to Apple. hp-all-in-one installer quit unexpectedly. Click Reopen to open the application again. You should be able to use SMTP to access your AOL mail via the OS X mail app. Or you can go to https://mail.aol.com to access our mail. https://help.aol.com/articles/how-do-i-u… Also, for your other apps, you need to find very old versions that are supported by 10.6.8, as most software developers have dropped support for Snow Leopard in the past few years. In fact the iPhone cant even work with the iTunes that are on those machines.
You’re probably trying to load very old drivers that won’t work with 10.6. Go to the websites of the manufacturers and get the latest drivers from them.
