I am trying to get a friends mid 2012 13” Macbook Pro to power on, but it does not, I’ve tried resetting the SMC, I tried disconnecting the battery and running power from the power adapter and nothing has worked yet. Battery indicator indicates a fully charged battery. My friend did let me know that when she put it in her bag that there were some magnets, and that is when it stopped working.
Go for a spontaneous reboot. Disconnect the battery from the logic board. Remove the mag-safe. Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds. Reconnect the battery, then the mad-safe and it should boot.
