Hi everyone, I bought a basic Uniden landline today and a Plantronics headset both from officeworks. Phone plugged in to modem router into phone port. Phone works great. Clear sound. When I plug the headset into the phone (unplug handset and connect it to headset) I get major static. I took the headset back, got the next level Plantronics headset. Got home same problem. 7 hours of life so far… Any ideas?
Hi, Did you try adjusting the volume in the Uniden phone to see if reducing the volume decreased or eliminated the static? You may have to increase the volume in the headset to hear properly If that didn’t work then I can only conclude that the phone may be incompatible with the headset. The electronics in the phone would be designed with the electrical specifications of the phone’s handset receiver and microphone taken into account and perhaps the headset’s components don’t match what is expected. All you could do is try another desk phone make and model and check if it works better You have already tried two different headsets and had the same problem and the only thing in common is the desk phone.
