After replacing my battery my laptop does not power on without an external power adapter. The status icon indicates a battery level of 1 percent and no charging. I’ve tried coconut battery and the results are strange, it says my battery has one cycle count and manufactured in 2016; charging current is zero. The power shuts off immediately if I disconnect the power adapter. I have attempted the following. SMC resetLeaving the computer plugged in powered off overnight with the adapter.Connecting an external power brick to the powered off computer (screen periodically flashes with red charging indicator).Checking the data cable connection (verified cable is fully seated with a continuity tester). Measuring the voltage on the connections labeled +/- I found about 2.2V which is comparable to the voltage on the original fully drained battery (2.18V). Are there any other things I can try to troubleshoot or get the new battery to work? I stripped a screw so the new non-working battery is stuck in the laptop for now.. Not good ;-{ The charging logic within the logic board is having problems and this battery is shot! It appears this battery has been on the shelf a very long time! As it has a 2016 date could this is your original battery not the replacement?
