I was replacing a cracked digitizer and a LCD with a black strip down the middle but when I put in the new parts the LCD never lite up? Nothing, but I could hear when I pressed the lock button the click sound so I know there is power, I tried my old LCD because ever though it had a black strip down the middle it lite up and could see every thing around the black strip but the old one did not work either?

Hi Deana, Try rebooting your iPad: press and hold Power Button + Home Button for ~12 seconds. Restart the iPad. If the LCD turns ON, great! If not, you most probably disconnected the LCD cable before disconnecting the battery cable. This causes a certain component (a filter) to burn. This component must be replaced in order to regain backlight (to see a lit screen). You need specialized tools and a good amount of skill in micro soldering to perform this repair and/or you will need to have it repaired by a specialized repair technician. Let me know if you need additional info.

What is the name of the filter that might be burned? Is there a way to test it, the power was off when uninstalling and reinstalling the LCD
