I ordered a replacement battery from iFixit and installed it. Unfortunately, the battery is not charging and my laptop can only remain on by staying plugged to the power cord. I reinstalled the old swollen battery and holds a charge for about 40 minutes before shutting down. Also, the light on the charger is green at all times when the new battery is installed and the old battery goes from green to orange to green once charged. Is this a sign of the new battery being defected? I’ve done a NVRAM/PRAM and SMC reset with the new battery. Thanks Update (12/10/2018) Attached are pics of the results.

As per your statics may be the ordered battery may have some issues and these issues can be treated directly by demanding a replacement battery from ifixit, if after doing NVRAM/PRAM and SMC reset with the new battery is not able to solve the issue and may be an issue with logic board

Hi Daniel, What ended up happening? I JUST installed a new battery on a mid-2014 MBP from iFixit and I’m having the same problem!

3rd party battery often draws more current then orignal one. I’ve tackled same issue on one laptop i received for repair. i checked entrie charging circuit on logic board but i didn’t find issue….then i took cells from new battery and attached to original battery pcb and bammm it’s done
