The headboard of my top loading washer is making a static/buzzing noise when it goes to the spin cycle. It won’t spin or anything. I’ve tried the bypass because I figured it was a lid switch problem but it just kept making that noise. I’d rather not pay hundreds of dollars on a repair person to come out and fix it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

When a washer makes a buzzing sound, the most common fault is that there is something stuck in the pump and blocking it. The buzzing sound occurs as the drain pump tries to run but something is blocking it and the “buzzing” noise occurs. As a blocked pump is the most probable cause for a buzzing washer, there can also be a other problems that can cause this noise.
