Chosen Solution
My camera powers on with a full battery charge but the view & lcd screen is blank! I can go to my photos & see them on the viewfinder & lcd screen perfectly! All the other buttons work fine! I have reset the camera & changed on the battery several times but nothing helps!!
Hi, Try taking a picture (I realize that you cannot “see’“what you are taking) and then download it to a pc to see whether you have a picture or just a black image.
The same problem appeared on my DSC-HX1 camera. With some hardware hack, you can fix the problem: https://eengineerblog.blogspot.hu/2018/0… This is written in hungarian, but the key is to change one little resistor on the main board. Replace R444 resistor by a 12kOhm. Good luck!
