Whenever I try to connect my tablet and charge it nothing happens.

First, check the charging cable to make sure it isn’t damaged or not fully plugged in. If the charging cable is in fine shape, the charging port is the problem. Check to make sure there is no debris (lint, dirt, etc.) inside, and the actual port itself is not damaged. Check out the troubleshooting page for more detail.

I had the same charging problem as everyone else. Tablet works great for a while, but suddenly it wont charge or it charges very slowly. I bought a new adapter, I tried all the fixes I found online, I did everything, still the slow or absent charging. Then Eureka! I discovered a cheap, easy fix that continues to work for me a year later: Buy a new USB cable. Even if your present one looks undamaged and charges your phone just fine. Your tablet needs a new one. The new cable will work for a month or so, then you’ll run into charging problems again. No worries, just buy a new cable again and you’re good to go. Until next month. As to why this laughably simple fix works, I read somewhere that the tsblet takes a lot of juice to charge, and the adapter just barely supplies enough. If the cable sustains any kind of wear and tear, the power dips just below what’s required and proper charging cant happen. I have no idea whether this is actually the reason, but I have had no further problems with charging now that I regularly replace the cable, and it’s been over a year now.

Please follow the following steps:

  1. Remove your tablet’s cover.
  2. Disconnect the cable (2x red, 2x black and 2x yellow) at the middle of the tab which connects the battery with the motherboard (For 10 minutes). Then reconnect it.
  3. Disconnect the cable joining motherboard and tab screen.
  4. Charge your tab with USB charger for 20 minutes to 2 hrs. (It depends!)
  5. Reconnect the cable joining motherboard and tab screen.
  6. Turn on your device using power on/off button. Maybe you’re good to go now!

Same issue for me haizzz. Tab s so bad got this kind of problem

I have the same problem, I have bought 7 cables, they worked for about three days each. Two of them original Samsung cables. I even bought and changed the battery. It actually worked wonderfully for ONE day. Then bam, the same crap again. Do I need to change the charging port?. I am disabled and spend my life on the couch with this tablet. It is two years old so of course out of warrantee. Any help is appreciated.

I plug it into my ps4 with the cord leaning aginst something so its plugged in kinda at an angle and the tablet turned off when I see the battery go up I know its charging

Try an amazon basic charger. I thought my tablet was at fault, it is but the repair shop recommended this: but the cable that came with my paperwhite charges at 2100 with my original Samsung adapter.,and doesn’t lose connection frequently like most chargers do. It tried new Samsung chargers, too dollar chargers, ALL chargers.

My tablet is just 2 months old and it doesnt wants to charge if it doesn’t want to charge then just go to the place where you got it if you have warranty or just do it on airplane mode

My tab s 10.5 charges but it has more charge when it’s off than when it’s on. It never done this before. Can someone please tell me what is wrong or why it’s charging like this?

My Tab S 10.5 screen had a similar problem. When charging cord is inserted it showed a low charge, 3%, and would not go beyond that even after changing the adapter and the USB cord. If the charging cable was disconnected the tablet would automatically power itself off because of low charge. After watching several YouTube videos I decided to take the back off and unplug the battery as suggested. However, before that I powered down the tablet. It then automatically powered back on by itself and the charge indicated 100%. So apparently it had to be rebooted to show the correct charge. Problem solved.

My Tab S 10.5 will not charge past 90% no matter what. It used to charge as fast as my phone and all of a sudden the last 2 weeks it started this mess. I actually LOVE this tablet, it looks and preforms 10 x’s better than an ipad. I love the resolution the tab s came out and really don’t want to get another one. Any ideas? and IF I do have to open it and hard boot it, is there a certain safe tool I can use that wont damage the case/cover?

my tablet started charging v v slowly - overnight didnt reac 10% Solution - took it out of its cover - charges like was new
