I am an iphone repair guy and have fixed hundreds of iphones. Recently started advertising android repair. Have a note 5 with a blank screen but the small light at the top left comes on blue. when i charge it, it shows green for full charge. anything i can do to get it to turn back on or is the lcd dead? i know barely anything about androids compare to iphones so i don’t know the tricks to possibly fix things like this

Check the logic board for water damage and clean them with stuff like 99% isophryl alcohol if needed. Make sure lcd cable is plugged into board well. Other than that it’s most likely the LCD. Have you carefully inspected the screen for cracks?

Look in different angles at the screen to see if there are inner cracks on the surface of the LCD (not the outer glass). Samsung screens are more fragile than iPhone screens, if the outer glass is shuttered, it can be replaced or at least you should still be able to use the device. It’s most likely a broken LCD and you need to replace the whole screen assembly. Double check the screen connector when you disassemble the device, if it somehow got unplugged, but that’s less likely.
