Hi, The laptop is not that old that the thermal paste on the CPU should have to be refreshed just yet. Maybe you covered the fan vent accidentally or maybe you were watching the video for too long. By this I mean a long time. Playing videos uses a lot of resources in the laptop which means that the CPU has a lot of work to do and heats up. To compensate for this the fan speed is raised to create more airflow to get rid of the extra heat generated by the CPU. Check when using the laptop if the fan gets noisy because it is running at a higher speed. This is an indication that things are getting hot. If it happens often you may have to open the laptop and clean the fan of any dust etc and also refresh the thermal paste on the CPU.
