I had a cracked screen so I replaced the screen, I’ve done this multiple times with no issue. This time I thought the screen wasn’t working but I could hear the clicks and vibrate so I knew the phone wasn’t dead. I went into my room and the lights were off so it was completely dark and then the screen was on, I thought it was then fixed so I turned on the bedroom light and the screen went back to extremely dim so you can’t see anything again. I turned the light off and turned the phone back on and the screen was bright. What would cause this?
Either ambient light sensor faulty but looks like it is working in your case. It’s to do with the screen where the ambient light sensor sits in. The part is usually the pink rectangle square that is covered with a black rubber gasket next to the proximity sensor on the front camera assembly. Anyway you can just turn off auto brightness instead of trying another screen or fixing it. You can turn off auto brightness in settings, general, accessibly, display accomodations, auto brightness or somewhere near there. If the black gasket is missing, the ambient light sensor may be too sensitive as it is taking in more light than usual.
Screen so dark can’t see to adjust is there a auto reset or remove battery to reset screen?
Your auto-brightness is enabled. Try looking in settings for a setting called like Automatically change brightness or Auto brightness, etc. Look in display settings, and it should be there.
