My mid 2012 MacBook Pro 15" keeps shutting down and restarting. I changed/upgraded ram cards from 2 gb each to 4 gb each, and put in a brand new solid state drive because I read quite a lot of articles and forums that state that would stop the problem. It is not getting hot. I have reset PRAM, SMC, and NVRAM. If you need, I have saved the most recent panic report. I am at a loss here, please someone help for I don’t have the money to buy a brand new MacBook Pro. Than k you in advance. ~Andy
I called apple and determined it is my GPU that is causing the issue. The only way to replace it is to replace the logic board. (which is very costly!) :( Guess I have to just deal with it or get a new Mac.
is it kernel panicing or shutting off. If it kernel panics, Check [http://this|GPU issues, please help?] for the answer that may help. gfxcardstatus is the program you would want to test. Hope this helps and good luck fixing!
