Hello, I was dropped My macbook pro retina short while ago. It restarts randomly with a kernel panic occasionally. Screen edge is scratched and blacks at that edge is brightened some… Macbook is not stable now, i don’t want lose my work because that unexpected kernel panic problem. What should i do? Is screen can cause this problem? I am using OSX 10.9.5 now. I ignored updates after this version because it’s stable with my audio engineering softwares… Is an update also can help me? Thanks for help already now…
I solved my problem… Solution is so simple… I opened my macbook and checked the connector between logic board and screen… It was not well placed. I think after i dropped macbook that connector was taken out. So i replaced this connector and kernel panic problem went away. If someone who encounters a problem like that it is worth a try… Thank you for all your concern.
First, keep your security updates done. You don’t have to upgrade the system. Kernel Panics can be hardware or software related. Keep an external backup of your data at all times. Just plug in an external hard drive and it will ask if you want to use it for a Time Machine backup. Install a good anti-virus such as Symantec. Apple is now a target because of their success, no one cares about Bill Gates anymore. To see if something you added is causing the problem start up in Safe Mode by holding down the Shift key on start up.
Most likely cracked solder joints under the chips, causing system instability. You can find the exact module of failure by tracing the panic dumps.
