My iPhone5s is dark ! I have tried everything method of rebooting . I can see the Apple logo when it pops up but it’s very very dark . The proximity sensor still works and also calls and text message alerts still come through . Flash and vibration still there , just no screen display
If this happened after a screen replacement, it could be a bad screen (try a known good one to rule it out) or the backlight circuit failed due to improper repair procedure such as blown backlight filter or broken connector, or the screen connector needs reseating. If it happened after drop, it could be as well a damaged screen or a failure in the backlight circuit or the screen connector needs reseating. If it happened after liquid damage, it could also be a failing screen, a damaged backlight circuit including a corroded connector, or all of the above together. Water damage can be sometimes extensive.
