i have to press near the home button my to start charging. if I don`t press it the IPod start charging after 1 hour aprox.
As Jules said, try another “known good” cable, preferably original or certified. Incidentally, if you are using a wall charger, make sure that it is working properly by trying to charge a different device, or charge from the USB port of a laptop. Let us know if this helps.
