I have an iPod classic 5th generation 30GB that I have already replaced the battery in and up until now it was charging perfectly fine. I went to plug it in the other day and the screen came on like it should but there was no indication that it was being charged. I also tried plugging it into my laptop and it made the noise that something was connected but that was all that happened, again the ipod screen lit up as I plugged it in. What could be causing it not to charge? Any help is appreciated, thanks.
@rwynne check your dock connector and make sure that there are no bend, broken or corroded pins. Check for pocket lint by using a few puffs of air on the dock connector. If all that checks out then it is time to open it up once more. This model had a design flaw which consist of the battery connector breaking of the logic board. Check to make sure that yours is still fully connected. iPod 5th Generation (Video) Battery Replacement
