So last night I threw my phone (iPhone 6) down on the couch and I missed and it flew across the room and hit the wall. I opened it back up to find that nothing was wrong other than a little bit of a lighting issue. The corner that hit the wall was black but it was a small spot and I wasn’t too worried about it. This morning I opened it and there were still no major problems, but later I started texting someone and out of nowhere it started clicking random letters (usually the space button, or the enter button) and I couldn’t form a full text and eventually gave up. I’m not experiencing many other problems with other apps once I get on, but when it’s on the home screen it will click on other apps. I’ve tried powering it off multiple times and I’ve also made sure to get out of all of the apps that I was on previously but nothing’s worked. I haven’t clicked on any links or anything like that, so is this a result of the impact of hitting the wall last night? Is there any way I can fix it?
Hi Madison. It sounds like you damaged your digitizer when your phone decided to smack a wall. You have a problem called ghost touch. A simple screen replacement should fix the problem as long as you didn’t damage any other components on the inside of the phone. iFixit sells screens, but there are other places to get screens that are a little lower quality and lower priced. You would be looking at around $15 for a 6 screen from other places and a lot more from iFixit.
