I got an iPhone 7 that need work done to it, and put a new battery in. Immediately i turned it on, and noticed the motherboard getting extremely hot, and I could smell a terrible burning smell. The battery is brand new, so it must be the phone. What should I do
There is not much you can do if you haven’t got the proper tools and equipment. First I would try another battery and double check your flex connectors. If they are all good you will need to find what power rail has become faulty. What you can do is remove the motherboard from the housing and check there isn’t any bridging between components such as a small screw or piece of wire. Other than that you will need someone who has the equipment and skills to diagnose the problem.
