Why is my ipad overheating when plugged and would not power on?

Troubleshooting the logic board requires access to the schematics and boardviews, as well as specialized equipment. You didn’t really indicate in your question if you have those or the experience to work on the logic board so it would not be our first inclination to tell you how to troubleshoot the board. Did you replace the charge port flex inside the iPad? If a new battery and charge port still don’t resolve the issue, then you either have faulty replacement parts (possible) or a logic board issue. There is an IC (commonly referred to as Tristar) responsible for communicating with the charging device and uncertified chargers can damage it. In some cases, it requires anew PMIC. Tell us more about your skills and what you have troubleshooted to date.

Sounds like it could be many different things. You could be experience battery, charger dock, screen or motherboard issues. First you want to make sure the problem isn’t the charger cable, block or outlet before moving on to repair options.
