The screen will not work. The touchscreen will, and all interference is comes from the too big screen protector on it due to a hideously cracked screen. I think that the screen cable was dislodged on the impact of that cracking, and was jostled around too much and disconnected. Could this be true? Is it worth it to repair or should I replace it. Oh yeah, the entire chassis is bent at a 3 degree angel from the charger port
Can you post a picture of the damage? It would take a lot to knock the connector loose in your iPad because there’s a metal plate the covers the screen connectors and it’s held in place with 3 screws. I would imagine you damaged the LCD which is what puts the picture on the screen. In the Air 2 and other models, Apple glued the glass and LCD together but in your case, even if they were separate parts, you’d still need an LCD screen replacement. You should be able to order a kit here on ifixit. If the frame is bent, you’re gonna have a hard time fitting a new screen so you’ll have to try to straighten it out.
