I just replaced my deck belt on ky yard machines lawn tractor and now before i even engage the blades it is squealing and smelling burnt.
Samuel Lent check all the pulleys on your deck. It sounds like your belt is just sliding on a pulley without it moving. That would make the noise and smell. This will destroy the belt quickly. Also, make sure that you routed it properly.
