My Starbucks Barista has just started to get very VERY hot on the top and sides. Today it also seemed to be leaking down the outsides of the porta-filter. Is this fixable? I hope so because I would be sorry to see the end of this machine - it’s been fantastic - and I’m afraid that I will be disappointed with whatever I replace it with.
It sounds like you have a leak inside the machine, which would allow water/steam to escape and heat the casing more then normal. I would start by taking the top off and determining where the water is leaking from; there’s little that can’t be repaired on these machines so it’s unlikely it will need to be replaced.
