i have a 1999 chevy cavalier recently the AC and heat both quit working all at one time. none of the settings work at all. i already replaced the heater blower relay in the fuse box. my wife said it made a loud noise before it quit blowing air while she was driving. what are my options on this? what could it be?

leviwright1994 , A mouse :-) or debri may have gotten in the hvac duct work and fell into the fan or the fans motor bearing/ brushes may have failed, stalling motor. Did you check fan fuses to see if they are OK. Remove fan motor and test it, if spins freely by hand hook it up to 12 volts from battery with a couple leads to see if it works. If motor seems to be good change the fan motor resistor as this is one of the most common things to go on GM’s to make the blower fan to quit functioning. Clean all debri from blower fan and duct work while you have it apart. Links below show how to test and change blower motor and resistor. May be worth while to change both parts if not too expensive, while your down there under dash any way. Good luck.
