Macbook Air 13’’ Mid 2012 Intel Core i5 1.8 ghz Macbook Air has 2 and a half year. The screen is dimming and slightly flickering, as though the brightness was slightly increasing and decreasing irregularly without the brightness icon popping up on the screen. It does not affect the colours nor contrast. The battery life is at 0 percent and therefore the Mac runs only on power charger, needs to be constanly plugged in to run. At first I supposed it was the logic board or display issue. However, I noticed that it only flickers when I am charging it at certain places. While plugged into some electric socket it does not flicker at all, with other ones it does. Answer is Much appreciated. added image

To start with go to the nearest hardware store to get a outlet tester, then check your outlets. You may have a bad ground or mis-wired outlet. If you find there is no problems found with this simple test you may have loose wiring in back of the outlet or the outlet is bad. Unless you know how to replace an outlet you should call an electrician to fix your outlet(s). As to your system it sounds like your battery is dead and/or the charging logic is damaged. Did you get your system wet at some point? Download this little gem: coconutBattery. Post a screenshot of what it shows you so we can see.
